Fish & Game Club

Presesnt: Steve & Steven Sears, Rick Saar, Elaine Brown, Matt Allen, Roger Bowen, Shaun Kyndesen, Chris Christensen.

Rick Sarr presided over the meeting.

Roger reported there is money in the checking account. Club insurance will be due in July, approximately $200.00.

Turkey seminar was Saturday, March 15^th, at Hitchcock. Had positive feed back about the seminar. Speaker was late but Brett Ford talked about the park to fill in the time. Mick & Rick made sure remaining targets were picked up. Might consider having a deer hunting seminar in the fall. Could check with the local sports shops to see if they have any speakers coming to town and we could arrange a seminar at the same time. If a seminar wont work, could have a Bowhunter Education class.

3-D shoot March 30^th. Set up and tear down went pretty well, range captains did a good job. Lunch after the setup was a good idea. The 3 stake format worked well, did not seem to have any complaints. Some discussion on expanding the range. Across the road, old A range, probably not a good idea with the new house on the adjacent property. Maybe rearrange to get more targets on north side with fewer on the south side.

Discussion on the condition of targets. Decided new targets need to be purchased, budget $2000 to $2500. Will need Reinhart mids and would like to replace one large target, elk, etc. Jay Wilson has target info, will ask him to do a little research and bring info to May meeting. Weather permitting, will have May meeting at Hitchcock so targets can be inventoried, building arranged, and a list made for what needs replaced. Moose is loose, needs a new home - Randy, Mick or someone else? Will also try to assemble bow hangers for the range use. Bring your bows, arrive when you can, food will be provided.

Need to set aside $500 for four new target butts. Two for the range and two for Botna Bend. Roger will be in contact with Jon Fenner about the Botna Bend setup. Park employees have volunteered to drive to Missouri to pick up targets in order to save the shipping cost. Need to check and see if that can really happen. If all can get arranged, maybe have June meeting at Botna Bend to set up targets.

Doug will measure racks in order to determine the Big Buck winner. Need to call him and make arrangement to meet up with him.

Is there any interest in a club shirt order? Will check with Jay & Karen to get some ideas and pricing.
